Stefan Toth has been active as an entrepreneur in both the real estate and oil and gas industries since 2001. In 2014, he founded HomeBound Resources and Mercury Operating and acquired assets spanning multiple basins across Texas. He has transacted in excess of $250 million in private and public financing for the development of HomeBound’s oil and gas projects. Stefan continues to pursue opportunities to enhance the current and long-term value of the company.
Pablo Cortez has over a decade of investment and development experience in the oil and gas industry throughout Texas and New Mexico. He is well-versed in multiple disciplines and has a strong background in finance. Prior to joining HomeBound, Pablo worked for a boutique oil and gas development firm in Dallas, specializing in due diligence and acquisitions. Pablo holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and management from the University of Texas at Arlington. He provides leadership and strategic vision to the HomeBound/Mercury Operating team and works with the business development team to identify new growth opportunities.
Davood Ghorbani is a Licensed Professional Petroleum Engineer with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. Davood has over twenty years of global reservoir engineering experience and has authored several technical publications on petroleum engineering. Prior to joining HomeBound, Davood served as senior reservoir engineer for Blade Energy Partners and Denbury Resources.
Davood holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Abadan Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tehran, and a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Davood previously served as a research assistant for the Center of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and served on the editorial review committee for the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is a sought-after presenter at industry conferences and has been recognized for leadership, advising and developing junior engineers, and innovative analysis. Davood was selected as an All-Star Employee of the Year at Denbury Resources.
Deborah Davis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance and accounting from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Deborah has over 30 years of experience in various industries, most notably as vice president and controller at two Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining HomeBound, Deborah spent 11 years in the energy industry with large public companies, focusing on oil and gas exploration and production, as well as midstream operations.
James has 28 years of industry experience. Before taking the role of Vice President of Land at HomeBound/Mercury, he worked for industry leaders Hunt Oil, Chesapeake Energy, Tailsman Energy, Southwestern Energy and Energen. His career in land has been one with progressive responsibilities, primarily involving A&D (New Ventures) and operational land management within an asset team. James has had significant exposure in the Permian, Mid-Continent, Marcellus, and Eagle Ford plays as well as several years of international work negotiating licenses in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. He lives in Dallas with his wife, Kendall and his son, Jack.
